Waterborne pH responsive hydrogels: Synthesis, characterization and selective pH responsive behavior around physiological pH
Authors: Mohd. Avais, Subrata Chattopadhyay
Abstract: In the current work, for the 1st time pH responsive polymer hydrogels are reported which selectively show highest swelling capacity around physiological pH (~7.4) compared to both acidic and basic pH at same time. As a proof of concept it was further demonstrated that controling the swelling capacity became the key to control their drug delivery kinetics, which show very similar pH responsive trend.
