Tweet Summarization of News Articles: An Objective Ordering-Based Perspective

Abstract: This paper deals with summarization of opinions expressed through tweets for as set of given news articles. We initially attempt to develop an intuition whether specific ordering or simultaneous handling of the major summarization goals (relevance, coverage and diversity) can impact the quality of the outcome. Subsequently, based on the findings we propose a tweet summarization technique that outperforms several state of the art techniques.
