PH110: Physics LABORATORY
Course OveRVIEW
This
course attempts to inculcate the necessary laboratory skills via
Physics experiments for the students. The
method of
science requires
clubbing together of empirical
results and mathematical representations to formulate
testable scientific hypothesis. The general validity of these
hypothesis leads
to the development of scientific theories and a deeper understanding of
nature. Experiments are vehicles to achieve these in a
tangible manner. As a budding
engineers, it is essential to understand the unerlying spirit of experimentation
and this course attempts to sow the first seeds.
COURSE GOALS
There is a twofold aim of the
course:
- (a) Impart hands-on-experience with planning and implementation of experiemnts.
(b) Deepen the understanding of the crucial connection between theory and experiments.
